Dear Friend,

When the angel appeared to startled shepherds in the hills outside Bethlehem, he heralded this long-awaited announcement: “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11, NKJV).

It was incredibly good news for these shepherds 2,000 years ago, and it’s still good news today. Because of Jesus Christ, we’ve been rescued from the greatest bondage of all – sin – and delivered from fear to everlasting joy.

The shepherds quickly told others about Jesus. The Bible says, “Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marvelled at those things which were told them by the shepherds” (Luke 2:17–18, NKJV).

That’s why I will be in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where God has opened the door for us to hold an evangelistic Crusade on 78 December at the Olympic Stadium. We are also holding one-day evangelistic events through the Graham Tour in eight cities across the U.K. in 2020.

There are many people who desperately need the Lord, and you can help share the greatest gift with them—Jesus Christ. I’m looking forward to what God will do in the coming year and how He will change lives forever.

I thank God for you and your heart to reach lost people with the life-changing message of the Gospel. We count on your prayers and your support. Your Christmas gift this season will help reach many more people with the hope of Jesus Christ.

May the love and comfort of the one, eternal Saviour comfort and strengthen you this Christmas as you celebrate His birth, experience His resurrection life and eagerly await
His return.

May God richly bless you,

Franklin Graham

Finding Comfort in the Word of God

Greg* was a married man struggling with addictions to alcohol and sex. He believed in God, but he hadn’t fully surrendered his life to Christ. Greg acknowledged that his struggles needed to be dealt with, so when he came across one of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Search for Jesus websites, he decided to sign up for the free Know Jesus course, an online Bible study guided by a trained volunteer.

Greg told the volunteer that he had entered his marriage with his addictions, which led him to be unfaithful to his wife. He felt a strong conviction from the Lord to confess his issues to his wife. As the course progressed, it became clear that Greg had not fully accepted forgiveness from God and was continuing to struggle with guilt and shame from past sins. He understood his sin had caused a separation between himself and God, but he couldn’t fully grasp God’s forgiveness. The volunteer continued to talk to Greg about the importance of prayer and truly opening up to God about his feelings of guilt. After learning this he began to increase his prayer time. He also enrolled in a 12-step recovery program at his local church to help with the alcohol addiction.

The discipleship volunteer continued to work with Greg as he wrestled with his issues, praying for him and writing words of encouragement to him. Greg was reading through the book of John as recommended, and gradually he felt that his wife was beginning to forgive him for the sin he had committed.

At the end of the course, the volunteer received a wonderful message from Greg:

“Thank you so much for spending this time with me. It was much needed and I have been blessed by your teaching and prayer. This has been a very difficult month and don’t know if I could have handled it without Jesus in my life. Challenges still to come, but I have found comfort in the Word of God. My wife has forgiven me and I know God has forgiven me. I have peace about my salvation for the first time in life. I pray that all the people I know will come to know the power and grace of our Lord. I pray that your work impacts many lives like you have mine. I thank God for your service in helping others walk in faith. I pray your ministry continues and now I say goodbye. You are my brother in Christ and may God bless you.”

Will you pray for Greg and the many others whose hearts God touches through this internet evangelism outreach? Pray also that the Holy Spirit will continue drawing souls to Search for Jesus from all over the world.
