I wish I could tell you that our work at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Australia/New Zealand always runs smoothly and that it is easy! But the truth is that amidst the great joy that we often experience as we see the hand of God moving and opening up opportunities for the spread of the Gospel and for discipleship, we also often experience unexpected problems and challenges.
We take great comfort, however, in knowing that we are about ‘our Father’s business’ and pushing forward with The Great Commission that we have, all Christians combined, which is, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the of the age. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV).
You, as a partner of this organisation, are partnering with us to carry out that commission.
We were very encouraged to be reminded in Franklin Graham’s prologue to Dr Billy Graham’s latest book, “Jesus’ words of comfort: ‘Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me … I go to prepare a place for you … I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also’.” (John 14:1-3, ESV). That’s the crux of our belief. That’s the goal of our mission–to have boys and girls, men and women throughout our country, come to faith in Christ so that they too may go to that wonderful place that Jesus is preparing for us.
If you are unable to do anything else, please do this one thing: pray that our work, alongside the churches throughout Australia and New Zealand, our work through the Rapid Response Team ministry, our work through radio broadcasts, child discipleship and evangelism rallies, will bear much fruit for the kingdom of God. We are on an urgent mission, the most important mission of all and “the enemy” will oppose where he can. Pray that our work will be effective and will prevail.
