For residents in Queensland and northern New South Wales, bushfire season has started early with more than 68 homes and outbuildings destroyed or damaged by fires over the last few weeks. Stretching from Yamba to Cairns, the destruction is widespread and severe.

Many people are struggling with despair as their homes and property now smoulder in the aftermath. Will you pray for the victims and for the first responders who are putting their lives on the line? Ask the Lord to comfort them so that the “peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard [their] hearts and [their] minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7, ESV).

Specially trained volunteer chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) have deployed to Stanthorpe in Queensland. They are supporting local churches and leaders, alongside Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief volunteers, who are responding to assist homeowners affected by the fires and severe drought. Please pray for our chaplains as they listen, support and share God’s hope with those in the midst of crisis.

Your prayers and gifts of any amount will help share the comfort of Christ with many desperate individuals through the ministry of the BG-RRT.
